Region 2 VPP Sites:

We're on Day Three of a heat wave. NWS Mount Holly reports that of their 8 climate sites, 5 of them (Philadelphia, Atlantic City, Reading, Wilmington, and Georgetown) failed to fall below 80F for a low last night. As of 8AM, the heat index is near or above 90F in most areas.

WEATHER WATCHES & WARNINGS:

New Jersey: Excessive Heat Watch in effect from Sunday until Tuesday afternoon for most of NJ

Current Situation:


Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 108 possible

Extreme heat and humidity will significantly increase the potential for heat related illnesses, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities


Potential Impacts by Lifelines:


o Health & Medical: Possible heat related injuries

o Energy: Possible power outages
