Special Government Employee Program
OSHA's Special Government Employee (SGE) Program allows individuals with safety and health experience to work alongside OSHA in the Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) and the Safety Champions Program (SCP). SGEs collaborate with worksites across the country, offering their expertise and experience in safety and health to promote safer and healthier workplaces.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has announced an upcoming Special Government Employee (SGE)
Training opportunity for VPP participants.This two-day training will take place in Nashville, Tennessee on August 29–30, 2026, just ahead of the VPPPA Safety+ Symposium.
For those attending the national conference, this is a valuable opportunity to expand your involvement in the Voluntary Protection Program by becoming an SGE.
