Fire Prevention Week™ is observed each year during the week of October 9th in commemoration of the 1871 Great Chicago Fire. This year’s October 6-12, 2024 campaign, “Smoke alarms: Make them work for you!™” strives to educate everyone about the importance of having working smoke alarms in the home. Make sure smoke alarms meet the needs of all family members, including those with sensory or physical disabilities.
