VPPPA Region II is pleased to announce Special Government Employee, Lorraine Thompson, of Parsons has been selected as the 2022 Region II SGE of the Year.
Ms. Thompson has been a Special Government Employee since 2008 and she has participated on six VPP evaluation teams in OSHA Region II since 2014.
In 2021, SGE Thompson was one of the first SGEs to volunteer to assist OSHA in performing VPP evaluations in order to help OSHA reduce the re-evaluation backlog caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2018, Lory also assisted OSHA in reviewing the 2017 VPP Self-evaluations. Parsons is a VPP Corporate participant. In her role as the Director of Safety at Parsons, Lory oversees safety and health management at 11 current VPP Parsons NJMVIS sites (Cape May, Deptford, Freehold, Lakewood, Lodi, Millville, Salem, Secaucus, Southampton, Washington, and Winslow).
Lory is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) with over 20 years of experience in the safety field.
The 2022 National SGE of the Year Award will be selected from among the ten OSHA Regions and presented during the annual VPPPA Safety+ Symposium on August 23, 2022 in Washington, DC.
