This e-mail is an invitation to serve as a Special Government Employee (SGE) on the new application Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) audit of NASA Ames Research Center in Sunnyvale, CA, which is part of the Bay Area. This audit will be conducted from Monday, April 2 to Friday April 9, 2018. I am looking for SGEs with industrial hygiene, safety, and lab safety knowledge.
NASA Ames employs over 1180 employees and 1890 contract employees. The site conducts research and development for NASA in basic science: Astrobiology (Earth-Life-Space), Technology and Applied Science, Information Technology, Nano Technology, Bio-Nano-Info Fusion, and Thermal Protection Systems.
This is a particularly interesting audit due to the nature of the work. The audit will include opportunities for some to see one of the world’s fastest supercomputer, a wind tunnel, and some flight simulators.
If you wish to volunteer to serve as an SGE for this audit, please respond via return e-mail. Please provide your contact information and a brief description of your background and experience, such as a resume. If you have been on a VPP audit before, please provide those details, including location(s).
Please make sure that you have confirmed approval from your organization. Due to the short time frame, please get your employers support as soon as possible.
